Connecticut Sickle Cell Translational Science (CTS2) is a group of clinical, basic, translational and community based researchers focused on advancing knowledge and research in sickle cell disease. Translational science refers to the scientific research that is intended for a practical application to help a population.
CTS2 brings together experts from across the University of Connecticut including the medical center and the Storrs Campus, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hospital for Special Care, the Olin Research Laboratory at the Institute of Living, as well as the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Citizens for Quality Sickle Cell Care (CQSCC), a community based organization in New Britain.
